BRANDON
The world of military TBI comes with the torturous burden of suffering in silence. In a one month span I had an interior door charge blown on me, ate two flash bangs, and was exposed to live fire from within 10 meters. Crippling eye and ear pain and a tsunami rush of nausea, vomiting, and disorientation. That Saturday on an easy 8-mile ruck I suffered a seizure and found myself unable to stand or walk due to uncontrollable leg tremors. The years of running and gunning had finally caught up with me. I took a knee and waited for my brain to heal. I waited. And I waited.
All the while the first 30 minutes of every morning was spent vomiting and cringing in pain from the most intense stomach and GI symptoms. Every day – rinse repeat. Driving one morning with my wife, the light turned red on our approach. My brain recognized it needed to stop. I just couldn’t get that information to relay to my muscles. We finally came to a stop halfway through the intersection. The very next light was the same. Later that week I was at my boy’s house for Friendsgiving, 30-minutes in, the environment had overwhelmed my resources and the only remaining course of action was to leave. I didn’t choose to isolate. I didn’t choose to detach from friends, brothers at work, or my wife. I didn’t choose to live in darkness. I didn’t have a choice – these were the only conditions my brain could tolerate. Life before Ashley and the Origin team was an incessant torture chamber. Tortured by the disfunction and disruption of my brain. My body enslaved by a brain that would not allow it to execute things as simple as turning off light switches.

The military and conventional doctors had no answers. My neurologist asked me to snap my fingers and follow a light with my eyes, which made me puke in his office, and then offered me anti-depressants. The neuropsychologist who, even though my IQ had dropped 16 points, told me I didn’t have a TBI because my recall of words that started with the letter A was substantially above my age-related norm. Their medical prognosis was I suffered from anxiety and depression. I couldn’t take two steps in tandem-gait eyes closed without falling down. I couldn’t stop at red lights. I couldn’t be around the people I love. I couldn’t do the job I love. And Medicine 2.0’s answer was… anxiety and depression. We suffer in silence because we are served by a system that is unequipped and ill-established to meets the needs of TBI.

In Ashley, Mark, and the Origin Team, I found not just answers, but solutions. Whether it was bouts in the TBI rehab facility where I couldn’t sleep longer than 15 minutes each night; changing my diet to take vegetables out because lectin was potentially triggering neuro-inflammation; or adjusting my care package to account for my SPO2 dipping into 77% overnight (which the first night on her protocol corrected and has maintained to 99%). All that was required of me was to do what Origin suggested. Every time at every juncture it worked. Origin didn’t just repair my brain. Origin didn’t just help me return to work. Origin didn’t just help me recover from my TBI. Origin saved my life.
I arrived to them empty on hope; soul crushed and spirit defeated. And they completely rebuilt me. In closing, that is what I would say to anyone about Origin: they don’t just have answers and explanations – whether you are looking to optimize or you are looking for a way through the worst
medical darkness – Origin Medical is the solution.

After tailored dietary modifications, hormone optimization and cell membrane support, she reported improved sleep, mood, energy and relief of her joint pain. She is now on a plan to wean medications that she has been taking for 20+ years secondary to improved neurotransmitter function and cardiac support, both secondary to her becoming healthier as a whole person.
31 yo Male: Anxiety, bloating, Alopecia
31 yo male presents with significant anxiety, stomach discomfort including bloating and diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, alopecia and excessive mucous production. He had visited multiple specialists in the past with temporary relief but symptoms retuned after stopping use. He preferred to avoid prescription antidepressants. Upon extensive work up, he was determined to have a bacterial disbiosis in the small intestine, genetic methylation defects, and immune system reactivity to specific foods he was consuming. After modifications to his diet, specific supplementation to address nutrient deficiencies and genetic, and a herbal antibiotic regimen his anxiety and abdominal symptoms improved dramatically. He has been able to wean off most treatments, while keeping in place genetic sap support and continues to see improved sleep, mood, digestion and further resolution of the alopecia.
41 yo Male: Anxiety, Weight loss resistance
41 yo male presents with anxiety and weight loss resistance.
He had tried multiple weight loss strategies in the past with consistent regain. He preferred to avoid prescription medication in the treatment of his anxiety. Upon testing, he was diagnosed with significant hormonal deficiencies that likely contributed to his anxiety and weight loss resistance. He was given dietary recommendations based on dietary testing and supplements aimed at optimizing his detox and methylation. He was prescribed temporary hormone support along with targeted peptides for weight loss and neurological recovery. He has had steady weight loss over the last 12 months and is now within reach of his goal weight. He has been able to maintain the dietary changes and had implemented regular exercise. His anxiety has resolved without any psychiatric medication use.

Onset of fatigue post Coast guard service that has continued to be resistant to treatment over the last 5 years. Extensive testing showed EBV viral reactivation, significant immune response to foods he was consuming, secondary impact on hormone and thyroid production. He was supported with therapies to specifically target cell membrane and mitochondrial health, immune modulation support and supplementation to decrease spike protein load. He was also recommended to follow a diet that removed high inflammation foods based on his personalized testing. His brain fog, short and long term memory and energy have continued to improve and he is now able to hold a full time position and tolerating the increased activity well.
45 yo Male: Sleep disturbance, Mood, Body pain, Abdominal pain
45 yo male with depression, anxiety, abdominal discomfort, body wide pain and sleep disturbances.
Patient presented with symptoms that had been resistant to traditional medical care and multiple specialty recovery centers after a military career with several concussions and a motorcycle accident. Personalized testing revealed significant hormone deficiency, signs of neurologic inflammation and overactive sympathetic drive (fight or flight). Treatment modalities were started including peptide therapy to support resolution of neurological inflammation to encourage increased production of neurotransmitters. Suspected low endorphin status was address and also sub optimal hormones levels that were contributing to high inflammation. Underlying injuries and drivers were also targeted due to the ability to re triggering inflammation including the gastrointestinal system and his ability to digest food improved significantly. He was provided an external vagal nerve stimulator to support improvement of his parasympathetic drive and improve healing capacity. The patient started seeing improvement in symptoms at 2-3 weeks and had significant recovery at 6 months. He is continuing his recovery by maximizing diet and lifestyle. He now enjoys quality, deep sleep, anxiety has improved significantly and he has been able to become physically active with sports again allowing for a 40lb weight loss. He is no longer has difficulty with mood and has been able to return to working status.
